"American Icon"

This is yet another exploration into the near extinction of bison in North America. This mixed media piece is layered with maps, vintage photography as well as my own photography. It includes trade beads, quillwork, and replicas of American buffalo nickles.

"Grizzly Talisman"

This piece was inspired by a Crow shield displayed in a museum in Cody, Wyoming. This shield was so powerful that it's design was even used by others for protection. I created my own talisman to show my respect for the great bear and to protect my tribe in the wild. This piece features leather, copper wire, wax thread, trade beads, African porcupine quill, coyote fur and feathers.
